Upon completion, the participant should be able to :<\/p>\n

\u25ce Describe different biological processes and their engineering applications for wastewater treatment
\n\u25ce Categorize different air pollutants and distinguish the different physico-chemical and biological air pollution control techniques for particulate and gaseous contaminants;
\n\u25ce Apply basic thermodynamic principles to determine reaction rates of environmental processes under a given set of operating conditions
\n\u25ce Describe the different water treatment methods and with the help of simple examples, evaluate the performance of water treatment plants

The Environmental Engineering short course is offered by IHE Delft Institute for Water Education.<\/p>\n

Several simple and advanced techniques to produce reliable drinking water from groundwater and surface water (water treatment) are used world-wide.
